Been playing/recording on some level since 1998, so here’s a quick synopsis:

Anthony Severo, aka “SEVERE” considers himself many things, but first and foremost a musician and lover of music – especially the low end. He first began playing the electric bass in late 1994 after saving for a year, and quickly became captured by the raw elegance of the instrument. Primarily self-taught through those early years, Severe formed and fronted Assgrove Smog during his senior year of high school. The band only played a single show, but the experience was still a formative one. By the late 1990’s, Anthony had started performing solo electric bass/voice renditions of the original songs he had composed for Assgrove Smog, and labelled the project Severe Bass, a translation of his last name.

In the 2000’s Anthony obtained a Bachelor’s in Music from Berklee College of Music in Boston (for Professional Music), left Boston to travel Australia for a few months, and relocated to San Francisco where he currently fronts Severe Bass and the Bad Decisions and works full-time for an environmental non-profit in technical support.
